Chicken ‘N Noodles

When I was a kid both of my parent’s worked. Weeknights we had what we called POW food. Quick and easy thrown together meals. Mac ‘n cheese and tuna, chili dogs, hamburger helper. However, one of my favorites was chicken & noodles.

Chicken 'N Noodles

2 cans cream of chicken soup
Chicken Stock.
Canned chicken breast
Egg Noodles

Chicken 'N Noodles

Fill a stock pot with enough water to cook the egg noodles

Chicken 'N Noodles

Pour the two cans of cream of chicken soup into a medium sauce pan

Chicken 'N Noodles

Fill one of the empty cans with chicken stock (you can also use water if you don’t have stock. It is still delicious. The stock just makes it a little richer)

Chicken 'N Noodles

Pour the stock in the soup base.

Chicken 'N Noodles

Stir to combine!

Chicken 'N Noodles

Open can of chicken breast and drain off the water.

Chicken 'N Noodles

Use a fork to shred. You’ll kick yourself if you forget to do this, because your little brother, or your spoiled child might get a big chunk of chicken, and you’ll go with out. Trust me. SHRED THE CHICKEN

Chicken 'N Noodles

Add to the soup mixture.

Chicken 'N Noodles

Again. Stir to combine. Put over low heat. Or flame if you have a gas stove (I swear I’ll never go back)

Chicken 'N Noodles

While you were doing the above stuff, you should have already had the pot of water on the stove and started it to boil. If not well then I don’t know what to tell you. Do I have to tell you everything? You can’t cook the noodles cold!

Chicken 'N Noodles

Add the noodles to boiling water and cook until tender.

Chicken 'N Noodles

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand drain.

Chicken 'N Noodles

Pour your soup mixture onto the noodles after dumping them back into the stock pot. And learn from me. Don’t surf the web while cooking. You forget to stir and the soup gets stuck to the pan. Even on low heat people!! STIR STIR STIR!

Chicken 'N Noodles

Serve with a slice of butter bread (or 3). I love to spoon the noodles onto the bread and make chicken ‘n noodle sammiches. And that’s all there is to it!!! I’m sure a photo tutorial was not really necessary, but I wanted to. So you will suffer through it!

I introduced Boyo to this shortly after we started dating and it has since become a staple in our house. We always have chicken ‘n noodle fixins. Likewise, your life will be forever changed once you make this… And you will make it. You will love it.

Because I said so.
